HS Solid Fuels Limited is the data controller for personal information processed through www.hsfuels.co.uk, except where a third-party provider acts as an independent controller for its own service.
We do not need your date of birth or gender for ordinary website orders unless a particular service lawfully requires it.
We share only what is reasonably necessary with service providers involved in running the business, such as payment processors, delivery carriers, website hosting and email providers, address/postcode lookup providers, IT/security providers and professional advisers.
Online payment options may include PayPal and Klarna. These providers process payment-related information under their own privacy terms. Direct bank-transfer payments are handled through the banking system. HS Solid Fuels does not store the complete card number or card security code entered into a third-party payment provider’s payment interface.
Some service providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where required, appropriate legal safeguards are used for international transfers.
We keep personal information only for as long as needed for the purpose for which it was collected and to meet legal, accounting, tax, fraud-prevention and dispute-resolution requirements. Order, invoice and tax records are normally retained for at least the period required by HMRC, which is generally six years for relevant company/VAT records. Other information may be deleted sooner when it is no longer needed.
Depending on the circumstances, UK data-protection law gives you rights including access, correction, erasure, restriction, objection, data portability and withdrawal of consent. These rights are not absolute and legal record-keeping obligations may require us to retain some information.
To exercise a privacy right, email info@hsfuels.co.uk. We may need to verify your identity.
We will not treat placing an order as consent to unrelated electronic marketing. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Where the law permits marketing to existing customers without fresh consent, we provide a clear opt-out.
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information. No internet service can be guaranteed to be completely secure, but access to business systems and customer information is restricted to those who need it.
If you have a privacy concern, contact us first at info@hsfuels.co.uk. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
We may update this policy when our services, providers or legal obligations change. The current version will be published on this page with an updated date.
